Solution overview

Bring proven power equipment into an outdoor environment.

Outdoor equipment has to satisfy the electrical requirement while controlling water, dust, temperature, solar loading, condensation, access, and long-term maintenance.

Gen Power can manufacture weatherproof versions of switchboards and motor control centers for applications where equipment cannot be housed in a conventional indoor plant room. The enclosure, gasketing, ventilation, thermal management, entry points, finish, and internal equipment are considered together.

Our legacy cubicle design has been independently tested for ingress protection, providing a strong basis for equipment configured to the needs of the site.

Outdoor design considerations

Ingress protection

Enclosure construction selected around water and dust exposure.

Thermal management

Heat loss, solar gain, ventilation, and cooling considered together.

Condensation control

Internal heating and environmental measures where the application requires them.

Cable interfaces

Entries, glands, and termination areas coordinated to preserve protection.

Durable finish

Coating and external hardware selected for the service environment.

Maintainable access

Doors, covers, clearances, and components arranged for safe field service.

Engineering continuity

Clear decisions, carried all the way through.

Early decisions affect footprint, cable access, protection, serviceability, installation, and long-term operation. Keeping those decisions with one project team reduces handoff risk and makes constraints easier to resolve before they reach site.

Our focus is a system that is safe to install, straightforward to maintain, and ready to perform in its intended environment.
